I was waiting to snap a shot for people passing through the street but I only caught one, I then looked for something somewhat interesting and try to inject photographic techniques I read on a site.

The building with green roof and a tiny, tiny flag is Pico Elementary School atop a hill. Far from the road, that's why students still enroll at Puguis Elementary School though farther at a kilometer away, students can ride jeep. Yes, pure laziness to climb the hill everyday. All of us anyway, hahahaha.

Beside the School is this mountain fire, which I caught some days ago, not by nature but kids playing with fire. Good for the houses at the top (silhouette), I saw a Communications repeater area burned but maybe there lawn was cleaned from grasses. The big pole is for current.

Another look from the fire, I first thought someone was burning grasses on there backyard or someone is having a big party until I saw fire lining  from the smoke.

Clothes left for drying under the sun on a dilapidated pigpen.

Usually wet clothes were hanged on a line for the sun to dry. I find this very funny for below it and the rest of the area is wide enough to put up a wire. Second, the G. I. sheet is rusting, wouldn't the rust seep through the clothes? Maybe not!

Hay, McDonalds, they should learn not to put pickles, or there is an option not to have it, on there burgers. Best fries and chickens tho.

Got this shot from putting a tube by the camera's lens. I find it very attractive and new for me, no need for editing.

Poinsettia and Granada. The Poinsettia is already dying, but lo, it will soon re-flourish on the rainy seasons of June, and all red on December. I never tasted the Granada for at medium size, children thought it is ripe from the color.

I almost lost this couple from the jeep. I got rattled when I heard a laugh, making me unable to shot fast. When I got this, I got satisfied and off for the next pix.

Birds and Owls 01/25/2009

There had come new birds (above) that flew and rest on the plants near our house. They search for worms, a true sense of a bird as seen on books and television. The old birds that fly through our house were house birds (maya) that look for seeds and rice spilled around, had always been there and were always the subject of anop (hunting) during the summer time (from March to April) when they are many. The adults have their air gun while they young ones have there stones and palsiit (blowgun/slingshot). Others put up patit (traps).

There is another type of bird which is hard to find but were good for hunting, they call it . It is a black bird (smaller than ravens) with two feathers of white on each wing and can only be seen while they are flying. They catch these birds not for eating but to train the bird to speak like a parrot. But for it to speak, the tongue have to be pruned at the tip to make it rounder. People are saying they really can learn.

I saw on television that more owls are being turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Protected Areas Wildlife and Coastal Zone Management Services (DENR-PAWCZMS) of Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Chief Teber Dionision. Last week another owl was salvaged for it can no longer fly. It was found along the road in Baguio City, The first owl submitted a week earlier died from its wounds and fractures.

There was one time I was fetching clothes dried outside under the sun and it was midnight, I was looking out for ghost and scary things when a white thing hover over my head. I was scared but I collected all the clothes Before I went inside. Nights later, I learned that owls fly through the night looking for small moving animals (rats and chicks). So they were the big birds that scare me during the dusk.

Unlucky for one, it got stoned by one curious nephew of mine. It got hit by the wing and was unable to fly. They were playing with it when someone asked them to tend it for they help eradicate pesty rats. It died from that wound, they were sorry for it, and now you cannot see owls roam at night.

Warren of Pico would like to congratulate Barak O'bama as the 44th President of the United States of America. Many countries are proud to have an african-american president for USA because they are waiting for benefits that might be granted for them by the President. Now whatever they are asking from the President we will never know where he stands until some time in the office.

Again congratulations to the President and to the future of the minority and second class citizens of America.

Warren of Pico is also proud of the only Filipina who sang for a President of USA. Charice was reported to have sang for the pre-inauguration of President O'bama. Thank you to the people behind her.

Above was a report from Balitang Amerika and below is Charice aka Charice Pempengco singing Dakilang Lahi with fans/charice-would-be at Wowowee. I just hope that with all the efforts being done for her, she would break through the music industry.

New Bones 01/08/2009

It's a happy day as I see the swaggering of the cloth,
birds singing melodious songs, and children poking fun.
The gentle hands that cradle me baked too stiff.
My body is tender like I was mugged by a hundred men,
I jolt and budge, like a trout out of water,
to ease the growing pain.
Then my stomach growled, I wailed out loud.
Like there's an urchin inside, walking--
And there the creature move from side to side
As I see my stomach bulge from end to end--
his feet punishing me again and again.
I rest my head on her feeble hand
as she strokes my hair to wipe the sweat.
My scalding head had toasted my brain,
my eyes have sunken in its progressive state.
All hopes were gone and tempers flared
when I thrown up their tender care.
The hope of life is slowly draining;
more is lost, more than I take.

I felt someone with a sturdy hand,
he carries with him a tilted cap
like a drunkard who care not of its median.

He walks with an easy gait
like a column-braced person
its shoulder steady and his hands swaying
marching with his feet
A trait he took from saving the world like zorro.

His eyes is ringed by blue
that reveals his first calling --
Past his birthplace through the dense forest
where wild boars, deers, snakes, and monkeys roam
he trek, loathing at the invite of the steep ravine
as high as Taipei 101,
fighting the hands
of the river that pull every step
even with monkey feet
open to a stairs of paddies
build with bare hands
to reach out and blubber A, B, and C.

He is dressed casually with slacks and short sleeves polo,
but his shoes got a life of its own --
blaring black at the clouds and its sole is creamed
with mud like his father tilled the land and secure the cow.

His donut lips draw the hurdles
he successfully own with a smirk.

A man, walking beside me,
grabbed my hand,
he waited for his son for a snack.

2008 01/08/2009

During the world financial crisis on 2008, it was rather tough for all of us. It was weirder for me. I lost my internet and cable connections making me idle and focus on , err, nothing. I never got to visit spots around Pico, and never had anything to want to do. I was just stocked up and stacking bigger.

Until the christmas holidays when I saw how Baguio never changed. The prices of goods went up, up, up though. I was then eying a pair of shoes made from China at there cheapest rate then of 300 pesos. I just pass them then saving on money for a quality and more expensive shoes. Only to find out that during the financial crisis that affected the world, prices unknowling by me were racking up. Hmmm.

After Christmas, I met up with highschool friends that mirrored how pity i became. They taking care of families and jobs when i rant on my almost abandoned blog. (And hopefully i could revive it this year.) That was 2008 with problems everywhere. Imploring another big blow when one of my high school friends who relayed to me how he can't finish his degree because her sister couldn't send him through college. Playing around in college, i dropped during the midterm exams. To be associated with another college dropout -- Erap-- is good but really embarassing.

2009

Comes 2009 when the world is trying to recover from the financial crisis that supposedly cannot affect the Philippines, untill the OFW were forced to go home. Every factory in every country are laying off workers to survive the economy. Now, i don't know why Israel is bombing Gaza strip.

My surprise for this year is opening a friends account on friendster and greatly dismayed of not invited to join a call center training when I had been announcing i needed a job because blogging will not support any of my thirst. Yay. Call centers as well as of now are not hiring many agents.

I got to speak with my friend and the training she attended was free from the President, I would've wanted that. Maybe there's another one for me.

Flirtation Gear 08/05/2008

The hair is black, dark of that a coal.
So rigid, like that of the Gladiator's helmet.
So stylish, it will never go out of mode.
Cut decently, to present a handsome face.

The hair have a personality, that will make you envy.
A great command, that will lead you to do wrong.
An adventure, the extension of my soul.
An attitude of stiffness and attention.

The hair will carry remorse, anxiety, shame
A masterpiece -- intelligently sculptured
Like a crown that magnifies a mogul man;
Like the latest tech gizmos, it quantifies me.

Fare Increase 07/24/2008

Here are the new fare rates for Baguio - Pico - Puguis - Motorpool - Ampasit - Swamp route as approved by LTO and DOTC. From the continuous increase of diesel, basic commodities have increased wildly. This new fare rates are rather too high for students and parents. Specially if a student have to ride more than once to reach shcool. Other schools have two separate campuses or a campus stretched to hectares. Where the students have to take a ride not to be late from there classes.

I had done a caterpillar made with loops then, it had 7 colors and up to 30 inches long. That was my first caterpillar. But it all pop now. While playing with my round balloons i came up with a multi-colored caterpillar.

Update: This had long been pop too.
